Che cosa è il neuroma?

Il Neuroma di Morton è una patologia del piede abbastanza diffusa. In particolare si tratta di una metatarsalgia: un dolore di natura infiammatoria all’altezza dei metatarsi che si trovano nella parte anteriore del piede.

Come si cura il neuroma di?

Le terapie per il Neuroma di Morton possono essere in un primo momento conservative e, dunque, non necessitare il ricorso alla chirurgia. Parliamo per esempio di infiltrazioni cortisoniche, o dell’utilizzo di plantari che migliorino l’appoggio del piede e allevino la compressione sul nervo.

Che cos’è un neuroma al piede?

Il neuroma di Morton è una causa piuttosto frequente di dolore al piede. Si tratta sostanzialmente di un ingrossamento di uno dei piccoli nervi che corrono tra le ossa metatarsali del piede (Figura 1). L’ingrossamento può essere variabile da pochi millimetri ad oltre 1 cm.

Crioterapia; Sclero-alcolizzazione (tecnica che consiste nell’iniettare un alcol diluito a livello del neuroma allo scopo di distruggere le guaine del nervo, eliminando così il dolore; si tratta di una tecnica che pare essere efficace nell’80% dei casi); Terapia farmacologica.

Quanto cresce neurinoma?

Sono molti i sintomi che possono essere associati al neurinoma dell’acustico. I sintomi che lo caratterizzano compaiono spesso gradualmente, nell’arco di anni, in quanto la massa di cellule tumorali cresce in modo lento e discontinuo. Si stima infatti che il ritmo di crescita del tumore sia di circa 1,5 mm all’anno.
